Joining our Edinburgh office in January 2022, Trudi was excited to return to a smaller, more client-focused business with high levels of client service.

Trudi worked in her father’s financial planning firm for 20 years, helping him build the business, which was sold to a national firm in July 2019. Following the sale, she worked with a new firm for over two years before joining Acumen Financial Planning.

Outside of the office, Trudi loves getting a dance music playlist queued up before heading out for a walk, pilates and watching her son play football.

What do you like most about working at Acumen Financial Planning?

“I like that everyone within the company is enthusiastic and happy. Everyone strives to be their best and work together. I enjoy learning and adapting and ultimately helping the planner to provide the best service to the client.”

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“I don’t have one specific moment. However, being part of building my father’s higher successful, client-focused financial planning business from a spare room in our family home makes me proud.”

Tell us one thing that people would be surprised to find out about you.

“I was the Fife Under 14’s Badminton Champion many moons ago!”

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

“Always treat others the way you want to be treated.”
