Michael joined our Administration team in Aberdeen in 2015, later moving to the Paraplanning team in Edinburgh in 2017.

Michael has previous experience working in financial services from his roles at Bank of Scotland. This has given him valuable customer service experience which he brings to his current role.

He was proud to be part of the highly commended team in the ‘Paraplanning Team of the Year’ category at the 2018 Professional Paraplanner Awards.

Outside of work Michael enjoys film and cinema, regularly attending his local independent cinema.

Michael supports Financial Planner David Gow.

What do you like most about working at Acumen Financial Planning?

“I enjoy problem-solving – discussing issues with the team, collaborating and establishing solutions by working together.”

What has been your proudest career achievement to date?

“Being nominated for Paraplanning Team of the Year.”

Tell us one thing that people would be surprised to find out about you.

“I once took part in World Book Day where you had to write a letter detailing which book you’d like to give to people and why it was your favourite at that time. So I wrote about ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’. As a result, I was given over 100 copies of the book to hand out to strangers.”
